Blue Ridge Snorkel Trail -Catawba River at Marion Greenway

The Blue Ridge Snorkel Trail is made up of publicly accessible river and stream locations where people can safely snorkel and experience the underwater world. Each site is unique and offers a different sent of habitats and species to observe.

During spawning season of spring and early summer, male fishes are often more colorful than female fish of the same species. Put on your mask and snorkel and experience the vibrant aquatic life we have in McDowell County!

The Catawba River at the Marion Greenway is located off the Joseph McDowell Historical Catawba Greenway. There are multiple stops along the greenway you can step into the Snorkel trail to explore.
