Camp Grier

Camp Grier began in 1952 with 600 acres of land donated by R. D. Grier of Statesville.  He set up a sawmill, recruited volunteers, and started to build something great.   Mr. Grier and the volunteers who built Camp Grier embarked on a journey, an adventure where the outcome was uncertain and full of challenge, hardship, and great joy.

Today between September and June, there are lots of ways to enjoy camp. Begin by purchasing a day pass to use the mountain bike pump stations and trails or make a reservation for a guided horse ride, lessons are also available.

The site also hosts several running and mountain biking events like the Hellbender 100 and the Pisgah Enduro Race. Check their website for event dates, details, and requirements.

Looking for group accommodations? September through May camp lodges and cabins are available for vacation rentals. Ideal for family get-aways or individuals. You'll also have access to camp amenities including the pool, lake, and disc golf course. For more information and to pick up a day pass, please visit the web site www.campgrier.org or call 828-668-7793.
