Sugarbear's Sweet Retreat Dog Boarding & Kennel

NEW Family owned small business, state licensed and specializing in the boarding and care of canines.

Our new state-of-the-art dog boarding kennel facility is licensed and inspected by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and it literally sits 100 ft from the front door of our residence.

We adhere to and abide by all NC Animal Welfare Act Laws and Regulations. In addition to this we have many extras that are not required by state law. We have 24/7 state of the art security that can be monitored and gives instant notifications and alerts inside and outside our facility. We have state of the art Gator Kennels inside and outside that are manufactured by Gator Kennels in Colorado and they are approved and inspected by the state. We have Polyaspartic flooring throughout our facility that makes cleaning our facility much easier and less susceptible to disease. We have a propane tankless water heater that provides a never ending supply of hot water. We have two propane wall mounted heaters that will provide heat in the event of a power outage.

We have 80 lb. food drums that are numbered to coincide with each numbered kennel. These food drums are insect proof that helps in keeping your furbabies food fresher for his/her stay. We have Kuranda beds that are the very best in the dog bed industry for your furbabies to lay on our furnished blankets. We also supply stainless steel water and food bowls. We have a 3 ton Bosch heating and air system that includes a ERV system that removes any and all stagnant air and replaces it with fresh air from outside. We do have the state required smoke/carbon monoxide detectors along with fire extinguishers throughout the facility. My wife Jan and I have owned dogs for over 15 years.

The love of our West Highland Terriers is what brought us to this brand new dog boarding facility and the need of this service to our county. Over 1 year ago when we started this business venture we decided to name our facility after our then 14 year old West Highland Terrier Sugarbear.
