The Catawba Angler is conveniently located 25 miles from downtown Asheville.
Matt Evans and Perry Bundy are two passionate guides that grew up in McDowell County and have been fishing the surrounding creeks and rivers their entire lives targeting trout and smallmouth bass, spending countless days on the water and look forward to sharing their "local" spots with you.
The Catawba Angler provides each client with an unforgettable fishing experience on and off the water. They understand the different needs and preferences of individual clients, but above all know clients want to catch fish! They are the guide service prepped and prepared to do just that.
The Catawba Angler believes every fish deserves a second chance and that is why we are a catch and release only guide service. Not only are we are committed to protecting the fish we catch, but preserving the creeks and rivers we fish. The western North Carolina fishery is alive and well, but the livelihood of it is in our hands.
