Celebrate Independence Day in the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2022!
Marion’s annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks will take place on Saturday, July 2nd in the town’s historic downtown.
- Festivities begin with a community parade at 6 p.m., marshaled by the McDowell County Veterans.
- At 7 p.m., local variety band Gotcha Groove hits the stage — enjoy some dancing in the street!
- The fireworks display is scheduled for 9:45 p.m.

Arrive early to explore downtown Marion — shop for a unique souvenir in the craft galleries, enjoy a locally brewed craft beer or grab a bite of dinner before the celebration begins.
