Experience the magic of a sparkling menagerie sculpted from cold, clear ice at the Lake James Ice Festival on Saturday, January 11, 2024, from 6-9 p.m.
The third annual event will show off up to 40 unique themed works of ice brought to life by artist Aaron Costic. It will also celebrate the brand new Lake James Visitor Center in the Paddy’s Creek Recreational Area at Lake James State Park.
The Ice Festival celebration is timed to capture the majestic glow of the sunset, which reveals the full beauty of the ice sculptures before a rainbow of LED lights takes over to illuminate the works of art into the evening.
Ice sculptor Aaron Costic has been creating ice sculptures for more than 25 years. Costic has won multiple awards at the World Ice Art Championships in Alaska, and works on his art at his ice sculpture business in Ohio.
The event is hosted by the Friends of Lake James, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering conservation, education and recreation efforts in support of Lake James State Park. Proceeds from the Ice Festival will raise money to support the development of new trails at Lake James.
Purchase your tickets to the Lake James Ice Festival in advance — the event is likely to sell out!
