Stay in September!

mtnglorychrisoverview

A few reasons to visit our region of the Blue Ridge during September. Fewer visitors! Avoid the October crowds and plan a September get-away.

Weather!  It's cooling down.  Perfectly warm days, cooler nights and ideal conditions for hiking and biking. Lake James State Park's public beach remains open through September 30th.  Rent a kayak or canoe and enjoy the water.

The Blue Ridge Parkway!  At the higher elevations, leaves begin transitioning earlier, often in the latter days of September.  Leaf color depends upon weather conditions.  As Forrest Gump said, life's like a box of chocolates, you never when the leaves will change.  ;)

The 1st Annual Big Foot Festival!  Spend a weekend with us and attend Marion's first Big Foot Festival scheduled for September 8th.  Main Street will become Big Foot Headquarters.  Lots to see and do.  Check out our event calendar.

Winery/Vineyard Tours!  September weather conditions are "ripe" for wine enthusiasts.  Follow the Blue Ridge Travelers' Wine Trail.  Call to receive your free copy!
