Eco-Dyeing on Silk/Wearable Art

1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Tue, Oct 22, 2024
Arrowhead Gallery and Studios

Eco-dyeing is the art of using organic matter to create both design and color on natural fibers, such as silk, linen or cotton.

Participants will be given the materials needed to create an eco-dyed silk scarf. And are encouraged to bring any flowers or plants with them to explore the nature of the dye that lies within. Each participant will make one scarf. The class will be about one hour with a one hour break for steaming the scarves and 30 minutes to unwrap the work to discover the final pattern. (Latex gloves will need to be worn for part of this project).

PARTICIPANTS ARE ASKED TO CONTACT LORI DIRECTLY BY TEXT OR EMAIL TO CONFIRM REGISTRATION.
